My journey in the fitness industry started when I was in college. During my first semester, I was introduced to Mr. Freshman 15. It was a sudden introduction, as I looked in the mirror one day. I noticed I was developing a stomach like I had seen on some of my friends. I never saw it coming. I was active in a different way.
The way of the mind, not any type of physical activity. Unless you counted walking to class, eating, sleeping and eating again. I did all the late night fast food binges between study breaks and hunger pangs. I am sure you’ve heard of a “late night drive by”. How about a late night drive-thru outlet?
Apart from studies and being involved in various organisations, I did not have any time, or so I thought, to exercise. However, most people find the time to do the things that they want or need to do. After seeing my reflection, I became one of those people… I made time to exercise. I created 15 to 30-minute workout routines that my roommate and I did in our dorm room, faithfully, every night.
When I was able to figure out how to carve a little more time in the day for myself, I joined a gym. If you think about what you really want, you will find a way to make it happen. In this case I did not want to see Mr. Freshman 15 ever again.
